Capsule Wardrobe_Casual
I have too many items of clothing to have a true capsule wardrobe, however I tend to wear only those items that would qualify as part of a 'capsule'. I think it's likely that retaining the remaining items is more useful overall than donating them (considering the surplus of donated clothes in the UK) - Some of the items are for specialised use-cases.
My style is simple by design. We have wet weather in all seasons, and I'm best equipped for cold, cool and wet weather. I'm not as prepared for very hot days.
I prefer durable clothing and the jeans and trousers I've bought new (for casual use) are 100% cotton (denim / canvas).
My general approach is:
- Hat
- Outdoor jacket
- Knitted jumper (wool / wool blend / cotton)
- Navy, grey, beige or military green t-shirt
- Watch
- Brown leather belt
- Black or dark blue jeans
- Brown boots or shoes
Hats
- Baseball cap (faded black)
- Wool cap (dark grey, military style)
- Woolly beanies (black, grey)
Outdoor jackets
- Warm synthetic winter coat, lined (mid-green)
- Waxed cotton (olive green)
- Canvas hooded jacket (light blue)
- Lightweight synthetic waterproof (dark green)
Jumpers
- Various knitted (range of colours)
- Various synthetic, usually gifted to me (blues and earth tones)
T-shirts
- Mostly plain cotton t-shirts (beige, green, grey, white)
Watch
- Casio W-800H digital watch
- Timex Expedition Scout analogue watch
Belt
- Leather (brown)
Jeans
- Supermarket-brand 100% cotton jeans, straight cut (faded black, dark blue)
- Levi's slim fit, second hand (black)
Footwear
- Jim Green African Ranger boots (dark brown) - For daily use
- Gore-tex walking shoes, resoled (brown) - Occasional use / outdoor work
- Hiking boots (brown) - Hiking / Snow
